Global Warming as Mass Neurosis:

If even slight global cooling remains evidence of global warming, what isn’t evidence of global warming? What we have here is a nonfalsifiable hypothesis, logically indistinguishable from claims for the existence of God. This doesn’t mean God doesn’t exist, or that global warming isn’t happening. It does mean it isn’t science.

Excellent piece.  Read it all.

Hey, they’ve made a living exploiting different strands of Christianity. Is it any surprise to see them working together to exploit a new religion? Of course not. In fact, the climate change religion looks to be even more lucrative than anything they’ve exploited before.

While Reverend Al Sharpton and Pat Robertson have different views on most issues, when it comes to the urgency of protecting the planet, they agree.

“I am honored that Al Gore asked me to be a part of this campaign urging people to take care of the planet,” Robertson said on the Christian Broadcasting Network. “It’s just common sense that we ought to be good stewards of the environment and do everything within our power to protect this fragile planet that we all live on.”

At the taping of this clip on Virginia Beach, the two joked and prayed together. If these polar opposites can come together on this important and moral issue, why can’t you?

Currently reading “The Bible from Cover to Cover” by Peter J. Brancazio, Professor Emeritus at Brooklyn College (CUNY).   Very readable — very rewarding.  Highly recommended.

Richard Adams has an interesting take on environmentalism as religion (scientists and socialists using history to predict the future — while abandoning the scientific method in the process).

Yup, Kejda’s essay is looking more important every day.

The sign in front of a small church in a small town is causing a big controversy in Jonesville, S.C.

Pastor Roger Byrd said that he just wanted to get people thinking. So last Thursday, he put a new message on the sign at the Jonesville Church of God.

It reads: “Obama, Osama, hmm, are they brothers?”

DUMB.
