Instapundit lets his thoughts be known (through someone else’s quote, albeit) regarding the recently flared up Creationism/ID/Evolution debate. I agree with this sentiment as well.

Interesting discussion over at LGF regarding Ben Stein’s intelligent design documentary. The passions are out and a lot of people are sadly attacking Zombie.
My thoughts:
1) We can create “Darwinism” in a bottle. Evolution is real and can be empirically proven.
2) Also, the creationists who push the earth is 6000 years old nonsense are “truthers” of a different species. Not all intelligent design folks believe in this crazy notion.
3) There is a beauty and mystical quality to life, from human consciousness down to the makeup of our very DNA. The fact that evolution is real does not prove or disprove the notion of God or even if there may be some sort of greater intelligence across the universe. What we can seek to discover are the laws of nature, unlocking new mysteries and debunking bad science and religious dogma along the way. However, faith as a means of discovering truth has no place in the classroom.
4) I am looking forward to seeing Stein’s documentary myself. I’ve got a feeling he is going to make a lot of money with this one.
UPDATE: Penn & Teller’s take:
